Dental Auction No. 11483: 4 implants placed with bone augmentation and crowns
The patient has 4 implants placed in the maxilla and mandible. A dental implant replaces the tooth root in the jawbone. Thus, the implant is the foundation for the final restoration. Depending on the anatomy of the jawbone and the reason for implantation, there are a variety of implant shapes and implant types.
Recent studies show good durability of dental implants, with an average of 96% of implants still intact after more than 10 years. After 15 years, the success rate is about 92%, which is also very high.
This procedure involves 4 steps:
- Step 1: the opening of the mucosa.
- Step 2: the screwing of the implant into the bone.
- Step 3: the insertion of a closure screw into the implant for the healing period.
- Step 4: the subsequent suturing of the wound.
Before the implants are placed, the patient undergoes bone augmentation. Bone augmentation - also called augmentation - can be performed in both the upper and lower jaw and ensures that the dental implants can be securely anchored in the jaw. This is because the correct functioning of implants is highly dependent on a firm hold in the jaw.
After the bone augmentation is completed and the 4 implants are placed, 4 ceramic dental crowns are placed on the implants.
